Do you take large items and when?

Yes. We offer our customers a free bulky item pick-up once annually. Items include: furniture, mattresses, couches, appliances, e-waste, etc. We will take up to 2 cubic yards (3’ high x 3’ wide x 6’ long) We will not accept any loose, boxed or bagged trash, carpet, construction materials, wood, paint, batteries, chemicals or hazardous waste. So we can safely remove these items with our grapple truck they must be placed in the street, against the curb, away from cars, trees, parked cars, overhead wires, etc. Please call our customer service department at 831-775-3840 to schedule a pickup.

Does the trash inside the cart have to bagged?

Yes. All trash should be bagged and placed inside the cart or bin. Bagging trash will help keep the cart/bin clean and sanitary and also prevent litter on windy days.

What do you accept for curbside recycling?

All-in-One Recycling

  • Please make sure your recyclables are empty, clean and dry before placing them in your recycling container
  • Aluminum Cans, Trays & Foils (trays and foils must be clean) Examples: Soda cans, beer cans, pie trays, aluminum foil
  • Steel Cans, Tins and Aerosols (all must be empty) Examples: Spray paint, hairspray, air freshener, deodorant spray, vegetable cans, soup cans, etc.
  • Plastics #’s 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 (all lids and labels may remain on container)
    • #1 PET (clear and green plastic resin) such as soda, water, and flavored beverage bottles)
    • #2 HDPE (clear plastic and colored resin) such as milk and juice jugs, dishwasher and laundry detergent, fabric softener and bleach bottles
    • #3 HDPE (colored plastic resin) such as health and beauty aid products, medication bottles, household cleaners and air fresheners
    • #4 LDPE (grocery containers) such as butter, margarine, cottage cheese, sour cream, hip and dip tubs, frozen desert cups, gallon ice cream containers, coffee cans and coffee creamer containers
    • #5 PP (grocery containers) such as yogurt cups, narrow neck syrup, spices and seasoning containers, ketchup, mustard, and salad dressing containers
  • Commingled Paper Fiber—If you can tear the paper it can go in. Examples: Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, office, computer, and notebook paper, school papers, drawings, pictures, books, mail, junk mail, envelopes , wrapping paper and paper bags.
  • Cardboard and Chipboard Examples: Cereal, cake, food mix, gift boxes, soda and beer can carrying cases
  • Glass: jars, bottles.

Please Remember

  1. Plastic bags, film plastics and wrappers are no longer accepted in our recycling program. Examples are: grocery bags, bread, chips, newspaper, sandwich and produce bags. Look for local outlets who will take back these items for free (Drop-off Locations)
  2. Styrofoam is not accepted in this program.
  3. Place loose recyclables directly into your cart. Do not bag recycling. (shredded paper should be bagged)
  4. Recycling should be empty, clean and dry

What if we have extra bags?

Please call our office 24 hours in advance to advise us of the extra trash. There will be an extra charge for additional bags of trash.

What is your holiday schedule?

To acknowledge these holidays and to allow our employees to spend time with their families we do not provide service on:
  • New Year's Day
  • July 4
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

What time does the trash have to be out at the curb?

All refuse must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day.

What will you not pick up?

We will not pick up:
  • flammable products
  • paint cans
  • tires
  • animal carcasses
  • manure
  • tree stumps
  • dirt
  • stone
  • rock
  • brick
  • lead, acid/wet cell batteries
  • railroad ties
  • toxic materials
  • bio-hazardous materials or waste
  • propane/oxygen/helium tanks
  • items containing gas or oil
  • explosives
  • live ammunition or weapons
  • large amounts of animal waste
  • oversized brush, (longer than 4 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter)
  • bags weighing more than 50 pounds
...or any items that cannot be safely loaded by our crews for removal or any items that may damage our hauling equipment.

What is the Bulk Waste Program?

Republic Services will provide a bulk item pick-up service for our customers at no additional cost, once every 12 months.

Bulk Items Accepted: chairs, mattresses, couches, large appliances, water heaters, e-waste, etc. We will take up to 2 cubic yards (3’ high x 3’ wide x 6’ long)

Bulk Items NOT Accepted: Loose, boxed or bagged trash, carpet, construction material, wood, paint, batteries, chemicals or hazardous waste.
