How do I contact Republic Services?

You may call 1-800-431-1507 for customer service. You may also make requests or comments on this website or www.republicservices.com

Am I eligible for this program?

Resident must currently reside in a single family home or duplex in the city limits of Joplin. Residents in a multiplex unit or apartment complexes are not eligible for the curbside program, however recycling services are available for all residents at the Joplin Recycling Center, 1310 West A Street, Joplin, MO, 64801.

How do I sign up for trash service?

You will be automatically enrolled in the trash program when you turn your water on at your single family residence or duplex. If you do not have a Republic Services container for service at your home, please contact Republic Services via phone or online. (1-800-431-1507)

What is the price for Trash Service?

The current rate per month is $11.95 billed by the City of Joplin.

What is my pickup day?

How do I sign up for curbside recycling service?

Residents may subscribe to the Joplin Curbside Recycling Program by contacting Republic Services via phone or online. (1-800-431-1507) This program is $4.75 per month in addition to your normal trash rate. To sign up online, please click here.

When will my recyclables be picked up?

Your recycling cart will be picked up on the same day of your trash each week. It will be a different truck at a different time.

What is the price for Curbside Recycling?

The price for Curbside Recycling is $4.75 in addition to your trash rate of $11.73 bringing the combined total to $16.48 per month.

Whom do I contact if I have a billing question?

The City of Joplin does the billing for residential trash and recycling services. You may contact the City of Joplin Finance Department at 417-627-2955 or online.

Whom do I contact if I have a problem with my container?

Please contact Republic Services with any issues with your container via phone or online through this website or My ResourceTM. (1-800-431-1507)

Does the trash need to be in bags before it is placed in the Republic Services container?

Preferably, as bagging the trash will help keep the container clean and sanitary and prevent trash blowing when it is dumped.

Who is responsible for the Republic Services container?

The container remains the property of Republic Services and will be maintained/repaired by Republic Services.

What do I do with the Republic Services container if I move?

The Republic Services container stays with the house, do not take it with you when you move.

Whom do I call if my trash/recyclables are missed?

Please contact Republic Services via phone or online to report these occurrences. Republic will correct the issue within 24 hours upon notification.

I own a house that is currently vacant but the water is on. Will I be billed for trash service?

Yes. Every residential dwelling in the city limits receiving water service will be billed for the service.

I have a physical impairment making me unable to get the container to the curb. What do I do?

Please contact Republic Services via phone or online for valet services.

Is trash and/or recycling service ever delayed?

Inclement weather, such as snow or ice, may cause poor road conditions. The safety of our communities and drivers are our top priority. If service is delayed, we will return to service as soon as we are safely able. Generally, if one day is missed we will resume routes running one day behind using Saturday for Friday’s service day. If more than one day is missed, we will resume routes on their regular scheduled day.

What is the holiday schedule?

Republic Services will observe:
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
If the holiday is on a weekday and your pickup day falls on or after that holiday, then your pickup will be one day later than normal for that week using Saturday for Friday service. Collection will resume on the normal schedule for the following week.​
