Republic Services is continually working to provide the best recycling and waste collection services to our customers. Below are links which offer more information on the services available in the Grants Pass area.
Trash, recycling, and yard debris collection services are provided Monday through Friday. Yard debris carts are emptied every other week on the same day as trash and recycling, where available.
Even if carts are usually collected at the same time each day, traffic, construction, and substitute drivers all mean collection time may vary. If carts haven’t been picked up by 3 p.m., please call
Thanksgiving - Drivers work on Thanksgiving. Garbage and recycling will be collected on the regular service day, even if the regular service day falls on Thanksgiving.
Christmas Day & New Year's Day - There is no garbage or recycling services on Christmas Day or New Years Day. Service is one day late after the holiday and for the rest of that week. For example, if your regular service day falls on Christmas or New Years Day (Wednesday), garbage and recycling will be emptied on Thursday. If your regular service day is Thursday, carts will be serviced on Friday, etc.
If your collection day falls on a holiday, please have carts out to the curb by 6 a.m. or the night before collection day as drivers may arrive early to service the container.
Due to weather conditions and the safety of the public and our drivers, regular service may be delayed. If we are unable to pick up your carts during the week, you may put out extra bags equal to your cart capacity at no additional cost next week. Make sure that your phone number and email address are up to date, as we send service alerts via phone, email and the free
Republic Services app.
At Republic Services, we take your recycling efforts seriously. View the Recycling information below to learn more about local recycling guidelines and what happens to recycling once it’s left the curb.
Yard debris in the Grants Pass area is collected and locally processed into nutrient-rich compost. Composting saves energy and water, reduces the amount of organic materials from going into the landfills, and is a great way to recover and reuse rich organic material in gardens and beddings. In 2014, customers throughout Josephine County composted more than 7,500 tons of organic material. (Oregon DEQ)
