How do I find out what my service day is?

If you are a residential customer, go to the Find My Collection Day section and input your address to find out what day you are schedule for trash and recycling collection.


Can I request extra service on my pickup day?

Yes, extra bags may be placed at the curbside for an additional charge. Extra trash collection must be scheduled in advance by contacting Customer Service at 650-756-1130.

Do you take paint?

No. State law classifies paint cans as hazardous household wastes. As a result, paint must be disposed of through the San Mateo County Household Hazardous Waste Program. Call 650 363-4718 for additional information.

I am a commercial customer and would like to begin recycling service. Who do I contact?

Please call Customer Service at 650-756-1130 and ask to speak with a Recycling Representative.

Do you have residential compost bins?

No, but you can obtain a compost bin for your own backyard composting at a discount through the County of San Mateo's Waste Management Program. Please call 650-599-1498 for additional information.

Where can I drop off my garbage?

Customers can take their garbage to the Ox Mountain Sanitary Landfill or Blue Line Transfer Station. Ox Mountain is located off Highway 92, three miles east of Half Moon Bay. For more information, please call Ox Mountain at 650-726-4718. Blue Line is located at 500 E. Jamie Court, South San Francisco. For more information, please call Blue Line at 650-589-4020.

How can I get rid of a refrigerator or freezer?

Please email or call us at 650-756-1130 to schedule a pick-up.

Where do I put my carts and when?

Please have your carts at the curb by 4:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

Why wasn't my garbage picked up?

For those rare times that Republic Services does not pick up a customer's garbage, the primary reasons are:

  • It was not left at the curb by 4 a.m. or our driver did not have access to your cans;
  • The cans were too heavy, many times loaded with rock, dirt or concrete (carts must not exceed 60 lbs in weight). We usually send the driver back the same or next day after we receive your call.
  • Cart contains unacceptable materials (i.e hazardous materials, e-waste, etc)
  • Extra collection was not scheduled. Please contact 650-756-1130 to learn about fees and schedule extra collection.​
