Notes: Qualifying disabled residents can receive backyard service at no charge. Qualifying seniors age 70-79 get a 50% discount; seniors 80 and older receive 20- or 32-gallon service at no charge.

Newark

Below rates effective January 1, 2017 - Dec. 31, 2017
Please note the service rates do not include the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Benchmark Service Information Fee. This fee is placed as a separate line item on your Republic Services invoice. The amount of the Benchmark Service Information Fee is established by the Alameda County Waste Management Authority.


Single Family

Single-Family Customers include single-family premises and each unit of a duplex, triplex, townhouse or condominium which receives individual cart collection services. All rates listed are per month.

(A) Basic Service: Weekly curbside collection of refuse, recyclables and organics in containers provided by Republic Services. Customers may select their level of refuse service according to the container options available.

(B) Lifeline and Senior Rates: Weekly curbside collection of refuse, recyclables and organics in containers provided by Republic Services. Customers may select their level of refuse service according to the container options available. All customers will be issued a 64-gallon cart for organics and a 64-gallon container for recyclables collection. These rates will be available for eligible, low-income customers demonstrating that they receive assistance under PG&E's Low Income Rate Payer Assistance program. These rates will also be available for senior citizens age 70 and over.

(C,D,E) Additional Containers: Customers may subscribe to additional weekly refuse, organics or recycling service by requesting one or more extra carts in the size listed above.

*Backyard services are available for an additional cost. Drivers cannot service containers behind locked gates or structures. Disabled residents may apply for an exemption from the additional fee.

Multi-Family

Multi-family customers include any residential premises which have centralized collection services. Each unit of a duplex, triplex, townhouse or condominium that receives individual collection services is considered a Single-Family premises and charged single-family rates.

*Customer-owned front-load refuse compactors will be charged 2 times the refuse bin rates listed in the above table.
**Customer-owned front-load recycling compactors will be charged 50% of the refuse bin rates listed in the above table.

Commercial

*Customer-owned front-load refuse compactors will be charged 2 times the refuse bin rates listed in the above table.
**Customer-owned front-load recycling compactors will be charged 50% of the refuse bin rates listed in the above table.

Drop Box Services

*If tonnage collected is greater than the tonnage listed in the above table, Republic Services may charge for tonnage in excess of the tonnage limit at the per-ton rate specified.
**Republic Services will charge customers for actual tonnage collected at the per-ton rate listed in the above table.​

Proper Cart Set Out

Fremont

  • Place carts in street by 6 am on your scheduled collection day
  • Set used motor oil (in approved jugs only) on curb
  • No other hazardous materials accepted
  • Carts must weigh less than 150 lbs
  • Set wheels against curb
  • Leave at least 18 inches between carts

Union City

  • Place carts in street by 6 am on your scheduled collection day
  • No hazardous materials
  • Carts must weigh less than 150 lbs
  • Wheels against curb
  • 2-foot space between carts

Newark

  • Remember to set carts on the street, curbside and away from parked vehicles
  • Place your carts out for collection by 6 A.M. on your service day
